Clocking in & out

How clock-in works

Face + PIN, offline mode, server time and what the tablet records.

The flow

  1. The person looks at the camera (or scans a badge) and the tablet recognises them.
  2. They confirm with their PIN.
  3. The tablet records the punch with the server time, the site, the device and a photo (if enabled).

The tablet decides nothing about pay: every event goes to the server, which applies your rules and writes the record. That is why a tablet with a wrong clock cannot create wrong hours.

Offline

If the tablet loses Wi-Fi, staff keep clocking in with their PIN. Events queue on the device and sync when the connection returns; records made offline are flagged needs review so you can glance at them.

Breaks

Depending on your settings, staff either tap Break on the tablet, are asked how long their unpaid break was at clock-out, or have a break deducted automatically after a set shift length.

Forgot to clock out

An open shift older than 16 hours is closed automatically and flagged for review. You can also close or cancel an open shift from the Dashboard.
